On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the re-establishment of SJTU school of management and the 11th anniversary of the establishment of the MIB program, 2024 MIB Homecoming Day was successfully held on March 23, 2024. MIB students and alumni have secured internships and employment opportunities at numerous renowned companies, including Sanofi, Huawei, Fosun, Bosch, ByteDance, Uniqlo, J.P. Morgan, and Porsche.
Starting at 8:30 AM, the hall echoed with lively chatter as alumni gathered, relishing the opportunity to reconnect. Faces lit up with smiles as they shared memories of their student days and expressed gratitude towards their alma mater.
At 9:30 PM, the event officially began with opening remarks by Professor Ming Jiang, the MIB Program Director. Prof. Jing commended the contribution of our alumni to the development of business and society across the globe, and expressed his wishes for alumni to have greater achievements and brighter future.
Dean Fangruo Chen extended warm greeting to all alumni, expressing gratitude for their continuous engagement with the college. He noted that 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the re-establishment of SJTU school of management and summarized the college's achievements over the past few years. Antai has established itself as one of China's top business schools, achieving significant progress in various areas, such as in worldwide rankings, disciplinary assessment by the Ministry of Education and so on. Finally, Dean Chen underscored the expanding reach of the MIB program with a forward-looking vision, stating, "Your experience at Antai extends beyond Shanghai. Our growing presence in Shenzhen and Singapore is increasingly significant, opening up broader horizons for our global community."
MIB course instructor Hongling Jiang delivered a touching message, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the education provided. This powerful statement captured the essence of the program's mission—to develop leaders who excel in the business world and make a positive impact on society.
Tom Yu talked about his perspectives on continuous growth and self-improvement, "Graduation doesn't mean the end of your learning journey; it's merely a transition. Always question if you're adding value to your profile. It's essential to articulate your contributions confidently and substantiate them with actions." His words emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and the constant pursuit of excellence beyond the academic realm.
The event's agenda was packed with inspiring alumni stories, showcasing the varied paths and global opportunities enabled by the MIB program. Dusan Dragicevic (MIB 2018), Sandy Wongwaiwate (MIB 2018) and Sofya Bakhta (MIB 2016), as MIB alumni representatives, shared their MIB journey and career developments through vivid presentations.
The day concluded with a memorable river cruise with buffet dinner on the boat, after a series of arrangements of networking lunch, campus tour, and a visit to the China Securities Museum. The homecoming event was a celebration of the lasting connections within the MIB community.
Launched in 2013, the MIB program has welcomed over 400 international students from 80 different countries and regions across five continents. This event significantly enhanced the alumni's sense of belonging to their alma mater. By conducting a comprehensive review of MIB alumni across all years, we strengthened our connection engaging with overseas alumni and expanded our corporate relations abroad. This initiative not only celebrates the MIB program's rich diversity and global reach but also underscores its commitment to fostering a deeply connected and supportive international community.
