Prof. Pierre Tapie

Pierre Tapie is Dean and President of ESSEC Business School since September 1, 2001.
Pierre Tapie holds an Engineer diploma from the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris (France), a Master of Science in Biochemistry and a Ph. D. in Biophysics from Paris XI Orsay University, an MBA from INSEAD. He studied Theology at the Catholic Institute of Paris.
For eleven years he was Dean of Purpan Graduate School of engineering in Toulouse and CEO of Intellagri, the venture capital company. Committed to entrepreneurship, he coached the creation of 14 ventures. He has worked as a consultant in strategy for various companies.
Among his other current responsibilities, Dr Tapie is Chairman of the French Federation of Private Business and Engineering Schools, Vice-Chairman of the National Conference of Engineering and Management Colleges, Member of the National Evaluation Commission of French Business Schools, Member of the National Committee for Private higher education. He is Member of the AACSB Board of Directors and Executive Committee (the Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and Vice chairman of the Globally Responsible Leadership Foundation.
As a scholar, he lectures and writes on the challenges and organization of higher education in different regions of the world, global responsibility, and Business in Society. He teaches and writes on Leadership and Business Ethics.
Dr. Muzyka has a BA from Williams College (Astrophysics), an MBA from the Wharton School (Corporate Strategy), and a DBA from the Harvard Business School.
