Prof. Stephen L. Mangum

Stephen L. Mangum was named Interim Dean of the Max M. Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University effective October 11, 2007. He received his bachelor¡¯s degree in economics and a master¡¯s degree in human resource management from the University of Utah. He received his PhD in economics from George Washington University
. At Ohio State, Dr. Mangum has played a critical role in the success and external recognition of Fisher¡¯s academic programs. He has been instrumental in major Fisher initiatives such as the development of an Executive MBA track, a Master of Accounting program, a Master of Business Logistics Engineering program, and an entrepreneurship undergraduate business minor program. He has also provided leadership in the extension of Fisher¡¯s undergraduate business degree and business minor to students at Ohio State¡¯s four regional campuses via distance learning technology.
In addition to Dr. Mangum¡¯s administrative experience, his research addresses issues of military manpower, national training policy, returns to post-school occupational training, regional economic development, physician migration, contingent employment and poverty. He has published five books and more than 50 book chapters and articles in academic journals including the Industrial and Labor Relations Review, the Journal of Development Economics, Economic Development Quarterly and the Journal of Business Ethics.
