Abstract:
With a time-honored history, TCM is valued as a rare treasure of the Chinese nation. Deeply rooted in ancient simple materialism and dialectical thinking, this unique medical system has evolved over long-term practice. Along with the rising tide of natural therapies worldwide, TCM is playing an increasingly important role in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention. This lecture aims to present a full picture of TCM through its two distinctive features—a holistic concept and treatment based on pattern identification, coupled with ancient philosophical wisdoms about qi, yin-yang and five elements.
