Department of Management Science
The Department of Management Science has 23 faculty members. The department can be traced back to the Railway Management Division established by Jiao Tong University in 1918. It was officially named the Department of Management Science in 2006. The department is under the Management Science and Engineering discipline, which is the national key Level-1 discipline granted in 2001 and was rated as A (top 2-5% in China) in the fourth discipline evaluation of the Ministry of

The main research fields of the Department of Management Science include optimization & operation management, logistics & supply chain management, finance & risk management, etc.
In the past five years, the faculty has won over 20 national projects, including 5 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Over 350 papers have been published, including over 80 SCI/SSCI papers and 15 monographs and textbooks. Especially, the faculty has published over 20 papers in top international academic journals of management science, such as Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Journal of American Statistical Association, Mathematics of Operations Research, Mathematical Programming.
The industry research fields that the faculty pays attention to and participates in include intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, intelligent Internet of Things, automobile manufacturing, new retail, supply chain services, etc. In the past five years, the faculty has cooperated with Huawei, China National Petroleum Corporation, SAIC Motor, etc. and won 16 horizontal projects.
