2013 ACEM Alumni New Year’s Concert Successfully Held 2022-05-11

At 14:00, the event formally began. After MC’s brief introduction, the warm-up Family Concert started first along with the staging of ACEM alumni’s children and the Kite Junior Symphony Orchestra. The children played the overture with the famous French opera “Carmen”, followed by “Waltz of the Flowers”, “The Blue Danube”, “Tritsch Tratsch Polka” and other classics, winning warm applause from the audience, and the atmosphere gradually warmed up along with the wonderful beating of the notes.
To express the gratitude toward many alumni organizations for their services and support to the alumni and the Alma Mater by uniting the forces of the majority of the alumni in the past year, and to thank the great support and concerns of enthusiastic alumni and social enterprises, the concert specially awarded the “2012 Outstanding Alumni Organization” and “2012 Special Contribution Award”, and a total of six alumni organizations and nine companies or individuals won the awards. Dr. Tian Xinmin, Deputy Party Secretary of our college announced the winners and expressed the warmest congratulations. Subsequently, leaders of the school and the college awarded the trophies to the award-winning organizations, alumni and representatives of donating social enterprises and posed for pictures with them. Next, Dean Zhou Lin delivered the New Year message to the alumni. Dean Zhou recalled the innovative breakthroughs and fruitful results achieved by the college in the past year in the introduction and cultivation of high-end talent, subject construction work, graduate-master-doctor education, domestic and international certifications and international cooperation; he highlighted the alumni’s love to the school and thanked the alumni for their constant concerns and support to their Alma Mater. Finally, Dean Zhou sent his best New Year blessing to the alumni and called on everyone to “join hands to create a brand new glory!”
After the award-giving ceremony, the concert kicked off formally. The nationally famous Shanghai Opera House Orchestra came on the stage in the warm applause of the audience, and Zhang Guoyong, the famous conductor, mounted the stage with an elegant carriage and paid tribute to the audience.
