On the afternoon of March 13th , 2013, the ceremony for establishment of Shanghai Jiaotong University “sunshine education scholarship” held successfully in the New Administrative Building in the Minhang campus. This scholarship was donated by Alumni enterprises Wei Stockton of transportation Cheng (        China) Co., Ltd. Antai EMBA alumni, the General Manager of China Wei Stockton of transportation Cheng (China) Co., Ltd. Mr. Chen Yongquan, and the Director of the North American market, Miss Chen Yan with their entourage came to award for the winners. Minister of SJTU United Front Work Department of the Party Committee Taoyan Min, Deputy Director of the Shanghai CPPCC National Religious Committee, Deputy Party Secretary of the ACME, Chairman of the SJTU Federation of Ethnic Minorities, Tian Xinmin, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Office, Hu Weiwei, the first session award-winning students of "Sunshine education Pearl Scholarship” and teachers from Party United Front Work Department and Alumni and Development Office, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Hong Mei, the Party Branch Secretary of Zhiyuan College, and the Minorities Secretary General of the Federation.        

Deputy Secretary Tian Xinmin introduced the establishing details and selected conditions of “sunshine education pearl scholarship”. “Sunshine education” plan is aim to help the poor minority students of universities and colleges in Shanghai successfully complete their studies and achieve their life developments. It is jointly initiated by CPPCC Shanghai joint Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Shanghai Minority Association and Shanghai Institute of Management of the Association for the Advancement. Since 2007, the plan has obtained high attention and great approval. And it has been widespread concerned by community. "Sunshine education Pearl Scholarship" will encourage these recipients going back to minority areas to play a role as a bridge for communication between the east and west. Tian Xinmin expressed sincere gratitude toward Wei Stockton of transportation Cheng (China) Co., Ltd. and alumni Cheng Yongquan.

General Manager Cheng Yongquan shared his experience with participants and he mentioned that social developments can not be separated by mutual help and supports. He and his company are working on doing their best to social welfare. Therefore, he expressed his gratitude toward all the leaders and teachers working for the ceremony, and he said he will continue paying attention on social welfare, supporting educational developments of his Alma Master.

Minster of School Party United Front Work Department Tao Yanmin, Deputy Party Secretary of ACEM Tian Xinmin issued a certification and appreciation to alumni Cheng Yongquan. Dputy Director of Student Affairs Office, Hu Weiwei, presented the list of award-winning students, Alumni Cheng Yongqan and Mrs. Cheng Yan issued scholarship certification to the winning students.

The Hui student of EIEE, Ma Jie, represented all the recipients to express the sincere gratitude toward Wei Stockton of transportation Cheng (China) Co., Ltd.
