Congratulations! A dissertation of our college selected as the excellent doctoral dissertation of SJTU in 2021 2022-05-12
Recently, the result of the selection of excellent doctoral dissertations of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2021 has been announced. A total of 15 excellent doctoral dissertations and 19 nominated excellent doctoral dissertations were selected from the whole university. The doctoral dissertation of Wang Zhiyuan, PhD candidate in Management Science and Engineering of our college (Supervisor: Prof Jiang Wei) -- "Research on Supply Chain Data Sharing Empowered by Blockchain" has been rated as an excellent doctoral dissertation, which is the only selected thesis on humanities and social sciences.
Aiming to address the important issue of building a stable, durable, collaborative and efficient supply chain system with mutual trust in supply chain management, this dissertation provides a data sharing scheme based on blockchain technology, which showcases how to effectively use the characteristics of blockchain, such as decentralization, consensus mechanism, encryption and micro-payment to take up the challenges of supply chain data sharing. Based on Bayesian posterior analysis, this dissertation estimates the value of data by using both data and model information, and proposes a usage-based data value evaluation method to enhance the consensus of supply chain on data value. On this basis, the dissertation combines machine learning algorithm and operational optimization method to evaluate the contribution of multi-party data sharing, so as to ensure the fairness of data value allocation in supply chain. The dissertation also discusses the impact of blockchain ledger information on supply chain members' income in the process of supply chain data sharing. The research result of this dissertation resolves the pain point in supply chain data sharing, improves the efficiency of supply chain, and also promotes the research and application of emerging technologies such as blockchain in supply chain management.
The purpose of the university's excellent doctoral evaluation is to encourage PhD candidates to focus on high-level and innovative scientific research, encourage supervisors to carefully guide and cultivate PhD candidates, establish the atmosphere and guidance that advocates learning and dares to innovate, and further improve the quality of doctoral dissertations.
