On June 30, 2026, the Final Report Presentation of the Global Competence Development Program (GCDP) – ELPOZO Project was held at Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).

Attendees include Professor QU Xi, Associate Dean of ACEM; Professor YU Leng, Project Faculty Supervisor; Mr. Xianfan XU, General Manager China of ELPOZO Shanghai; Ms. Maria JOSE, China Business Development Manager of ELPOZO Shanghai; Associate Professor FU Renhui, Director of Department of Accounting; Associate Professor CAO Yufeng, Academic Director of Full-time MBA Program; Ms. Janet CHEN, Deputy Director of International Office; and Ms. Linan YAO, GCDP Program Manager. Professor María Pemartín González-Adalid, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Murcia in Spain, also joined the meeting and delivered remarks online.

The GCDP-ELPOZO project was officially launched on May 12, 2026. Under the guidance of Professor YU Leng, a diverse international team comprising six students—including undergraduate exchange students from University of Murcia and students from Antai’s MIB, IMBA, and undergraduate marketing programs—conducted a comprehensive two-month market study. The team focused on the real-world business challenge of "Adapting Iberian Ham to the Chinese Consumer Market," driving deep insights into consumer behavior, brand positioning, and localized marketing strategies.

During the opening remarks, Associate Dean QU Xi welcomed the guests and expressed her sincere gratitude to ELPOZO for its continued trust and support. She noted that GCDP empowers students to understand complex international business environments and cultivate global competence through cross-cultural teamwork. She emphasized that this project stands as one of the first milestone practical achievements since the recent inception of Antai Global Competence Development Center.

Professor María González-Adalid highly praised the collaboration in her address online. She remarked that bringing international students together to tackle real-world challenges is an invaluable way to foster cross-cultural communication and joint innovation, expressing strong hopes for deepening future institutional ties.

Representing the corporate partner, Xianfan XU expressed his appreciation to Antai and the student team. He pointed out that the project provided a valuable platform for deep exchange, allowing students to experience firsthand how global enterprises navigate diverse market environments and evolving consumer demands.

Project Faculty Supervisor Professor YU Leng then reviewed the program's two-month progression. He highlighted that the student team had conducted multiple rounds of rigorous research, including a corporate visit to ELPOZO's Shanghai office on June 12 to deepen their understanding of the brand's current status, market challenges, and corporate needs, which laid a solid foundation for their final delivery.

Following the remarks, the students presented an impressive report, showcasing strategic and creative proposals regarding brand name localization, product adaptation, digital marketing channels, and offline distribution expansion in China. The session concluded with an engaging, in-depth Q&A discussion, where the ELPOZO executive team and Antai’s faculty evaluators—including Associate Professor FU Renhui and Associate Professor CAO Yufeng—provided professional and constructive feedback on the team's proposals.

The meeting was moderated by Janet CHEN, Deputy Director of International Office.

Introduction to the Center and Program

[Center Overview]

The Antai Global Competence Development Center was officially established on June 13, 2026. The Center is dedicated to constructing a three-dimensional cultivation framework characterized by "practice enablement, academic support, and industry feedback," thereby promoting a virtuous cycle among talent cultivation, industry service, and industrial upgrading.

[Program Overview]

The Global Competence Development Program (GCDP), formerly known as the Corporate Lab, was established in 2017 by Antai’s International Office. This short-term, project-based initiative is designed to cultivate students' global vision, cross-cultural communication, and practical capabilities. By partnering with international organizations, multinational corporations, and foreign chambers of commerce, GCDP selects top students from Antai and world-class business schools to tackle real-world global challenges. Teams conduct hands-on research on topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainable development, global economics, and public health. Through this collaboration, participants deliver actionable proposals that yield both commercial value and lasting societal impact.
