Dare to be the first to pioneer management education of universities in China- 1903Sheng Xuanhuai and other personages applied for establishing Politics Class, Business School and Business Major of Nanyang Public School, which became the origin of the development of Economics and Management discipline at Jiao Tong University.

- 1984With the approval of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University resumed the establishment of School of Management.
- 1985The Doctoral program in Systems Engineering was established, and Management Education and Training Center for Adults was established.
- 1987School of Management was relocated from Zhixin Xizhai of Xuhui Campus to Fahua Campus.

- 1996Aetna International Group from USA funded the co-construction of School of Management with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
2000-So Far
Thriving and ranking among the top 100 world-renowned business schools- 2000The school was renamed Antai College of Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
- 2003The first Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) class was opened. The Doctoral program in Business Administration was established.
- 2006The college was renamed Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
- 2011It became the first business school in China triple-accredited by AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB at the same time. The Doctoral program of Applied Economics was established.
- 2018The major of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University celebrated its 100th anniversary. The Industry Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established.
- 2019Asia-Pacific Center, Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was established.
- 2022Shenzhen Institute of Industry Research of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will be launched.
