The CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge, sponsored by CFA Institute in the United States, is an analytical research competition fully in English for financial students from colleges and universities around the world. Every year, top universities around the world are invited to participate in the competition. Student teams from universities invited to participate in the competition will research and analyze a listed company, demonstrate their ability to write reports and give presentations, and receive tests on how to promote the best implementation of stock research and corporate analysis. The competition is divided into four stages, namely, local competition, regional semi-final, regional final and global final, and there are four local competition areas in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu. This year, 28 teams from 16 universities in Yangtze River Delta participated in the Shanghai competition and they studied and made representations on the same company — BYD (002594). Two teams were selected to advance to the Asia-Pacific regional competition after fierce competition in the preliminary and final rounds.
