Dean Chen Attended the 2026 Antai European International Alumni Forum in Paris 2026-04-19

In mid-April 2026, Professor CHEN Fangruo, Dean of Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), led a delegation to Paris, France, to hold the 2026 China-Europe Business Development Forum & Antai European International Alumni Forum. Distinguished guests attended the event, including AN Yan, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in France; Danica PURG, President of CEEMAN; and Marie-Pierre SCHICKEL, Managing Director of ESSEC Alumni, each delivering opening remarks.

The forum, themed “Forging Synergies, Shaping the Future”, aimed to explore in-depth China-Europe industrial chain cooperation and brand interconnectivity, while building a high-level dialogue platform for bilateral trade and business exchanges. It gathered nearly 120 participants from China and Europe, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy in France, renowned entrepreneurs, academic experts, and Antai’s European international alumni.

During their stay in France, the delegation visited Teleperformance, the world’s largest outsourced contact center and business process outsourcing (BPO) provider, where many Antai alumni are employed. They held discussions with CHEN Nan, Director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in France, and local alumni, focusing on opportunities and challenges for Chinese enterprises expanding into Europe.

The delegation subsequently visited the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, the headquarters of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), and the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway. In-depth discussions were held on international exchange and cooperation, industry research, as well as school governance and incentive mechanisms.

This European visit has effectively strengthened ACEM’s cooperative ties with key European business schools and international organizations, laying a solid foundation for advancing the college’s internationalization strategy and industry–university–research collaborative innovation.
