【Abstract】This chapter suggests advancing green supply chain management research in several perspectives. First, the chapter advocates a multi-tier approach to allow buyers from Global North to better understand low-tier suppliers from Global South. Second, the chapter advocates a shift from a focal-firm and supplier-customer centric to include multiple stakeholders, government, regulators, NGOs, local communities who play important roles in especially driving activities for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). Third, the chapter suggests closer examination of motivations, behaviour, and perceptions of responsibilities among individual employees, managers, community leaders, government officers, and intra-organizational dynamics among different functions. Fourth, instead of a “business as usual” mindset, a participatory, action driven academic-industry approach to “reimagine” and co-create innovative approaches to supply chain is proposed to develop innovative practices such as inclusive value chains and circular economy.
